Renaissance Pointe

“Why does this trail just end like this?
Isn’t there something we can do?”
– Jeremy Brown
Site Plan Concepts L1

If you’ve walked the Columbia Shores segment of Vancouver’s Columbia River Renaissance Trail, you probably share the sentiments the late Det. Jeremy Brown had on his morning trail walks with his wife, Jill, and wonder why our internationally acclaimed waterfront trail ends abruptly at a neglected, empty lot.

The short answer to Jeremy’s question is yes, there is something we can do. Our proposed solution is the Renaissance Pointe beautification project, a grassroots effort to turn an overlooked trail end into a safe, attractive spot to turnaround or to pause for a while.

The longer answer is a little more complicated. The Renaissance Pointe project requires a partnership between public agencies, local business and committed residents to bring it to fruition.

That’s where you come in.

Renaissance Pointe is an opportunity to show Vancouver at its best – a caring community that takes pride in its shared spaces. Honoring the spirit of Jeremy’s commitment to our community and deeply inspired by one of our very favorite Vancouver supporters, the late Jane Jacobsen, who never backed down from a challenge, we’ve decided that yes, there is something we can do.

Please consider a donation to Renaissance Pointe to help with the cost of design, permitting and construction of a community asset that reflects Vancouver’s commitment to being the best it can be. Let’s all work together to make the vision a reality.
